Hunting Hurricanes
Jeff Masters
The 2007 Atlantic hurricane season begins today, and researchers expect it to be intense. They predict there will be 9 hurricanes, and that 5 of them will be major, generating winds over 110 m.p.h. They also claim there's a good chance that any one of them will make landfall.
Jeff Masters has a lot of personal experience with hurricanes. He spent 4 years flying through the most extraordinary weather on the planet as a flight meteorologist with the Hurricane Hunters at NOAA.
Hurricane Hugo, 1989
Dick talks with Jeff about what he saw flying into Hurricane Gilbert, and the time he was nearly killed flying into Hurricane Hugo.

YOUR STORY - CYNTHIA HERBER
Cynthia Herber
Born and raised Jewish in Mexico City, Cynthia Herber couldn’t avoid the traditions of Mexican Catholicism. When she was 28, a friend’s mother gave Cynthia a small statue of St. Anthony to help her find a husband. Cynthia obliged the woman by going to church, saying the appropriate prayer and placing the St. Anthony statue upside down and backwards in her apartment. Not long after, Cynthia found a husband, a rabbi.
