LOST IN ACTION
William Marshall Anderson, Sr.
Marshall Anderson's dad fought in World War II and he never liked to talk about it - except for one story.
In 1944, Marshall's dad fought in the Battle of Hurtgen Forest in Germany. It was one of the fiercest military encounters American troops faced in Europe. His dad survived, but lost his college class ring. The ring meant a lot to Marshall's dad - and he hadn't even worn it very long before it slipped from his finger and disappeared.
In 2005, four years after his father's death, Marshall came home to a message on his answering machine: the ring Marshall's dad had lost nearly 60 years earlier was finally found.

Marshall joins Dick to tell his father's story, and describe his amazement at getting the ring after so many years.

Peggy Kirk Bell
The U.S. Women's Open begins today at Pine Needles - the golf course owned by famed player and teacher, Peggy Kirk Bell.
Peggy Kirk Bell, now 85, gives Dick Gordon a lesson, and shares stories from the many decades she has spent playing the game and leaving her mark on it. One story: as a young golfer, Peggy wore long, old-fashioned dresses with buttons. Up the back.
