THE STATE OF THE WAR

MurabitoGunnery Sgt. Joseph Murabito and Cpl. Jarrod Laureano are just back from Iraq. They spent 7 months in Ramadi as Combat Engineers attached to the 1st Battalion 9th Marines.

Though they trained up for heavy combat operations, they found themselves spending most of their time removing military installations - taking down sandbags and barbed wire, helping Iraqis set up police stations, handing the city back.

JarrodThis was Cpl. Laureano's second deployment. He says he had a hard time getting used to how calm things were this time around. On this deployment, for example, the 1/9 Battalion had just two casualties.

The two Marines talk with Dick Gordon about what they've seen in Iraq, and what that could mean for the future of the war.
