Rediscovering Her Art

Tari-Swenson-PHOTO.jpgTari Swenson

Tari Swenson gave up calligraphy the evening she used up her rice paper trying to telegraph her favorite quote. Frustrated by not being able to control the calligraphy brush just how she wanted, she ended up hating all the pieces she'd made. Tari stacked them up and put them in the attic. Twenty-four years later, after a devastating house fire, Tari returned to her family home to take in the damage. What she found was something else. Tari describes the discovery that rekindled her spirit and love of calligraphy.

"The main thing is to feel emotion, to hope, to love, to quiver, to live."
