swimmerTucker Dupree

Tucker Dupree is competing today in an international swim competition in Rio de Janeiro. Swimming competitively is a dream he's had since he was a kid, but when he lost much of his sight, he wasn't sure if his dream would come true.

Tucker was a typical high school senior with a passion for swimming. He was looking forward to college and thought he might achieve his dream of becoming a college swimming star. One morning, he woke up, opened his eyes, and couldn't see the red, white and blue USA swimming sticker on the other side of his room. He would soon learn he had a degenerative eye condition. But Tucker didn't give up his dream; in fact, he made it bigger. He even reached the Paralympics last year in Beijing. Tucker talks to Dick Gordon about how losing his sight changed his life, in many ways for the better.
