Mom's Death (2006)

When Beverly's mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, Beverly decided to document her illness with a series of graphic images like this one. Beverly says that she wanted to create art that honestly documents the dying process. "I had to make a decision about if I were going to come back and be a grieving daughter, or if I were going to be a painter. I decided that I wanted to be a painter," Beverly remembers.
