Gene Doucette

Gene Doucette designed many of the sparkly costumes Elvis Presley wore for his live concerts. Gene talked with Dick Gordon on what would have been Elvis' 75th birthday. These images are some of Gene's designs that he discussed with Dick. Top, "Aloha Via Satellite": Gene designed this outfit for the concert "Elvis Aloha from Hawaii". Middle, "Sunburst": Gene says this was one of Elvis' favorites because Elvis thought it brought the eye to his face. Bottom, "King of Spades": Gene says that he emptied out his jewel drawer for this costume.
