To Infinity And Beyond

To Infinity And Beyond

Entrepreneurs have big plans for space. One is developing the first space hotel. Another is selling homesteads on Mars.  Yet another is blasting people's ashes into the final frontier.  And NASA is sketching its plans to build and permanently occupy a base on the moon by the year 2020. Today, Dick talks to two astronauts who have been there. And they have lots of tales to tell.

Charlie Duke traveled to the moon in 1972. While walking on the lunar surface, he and a fellow astronaut held, what they called, the very first Space Olympics, including a high jump "competition".

In 2002, Peggy Whitson's dream to be an astronaut came true. She lived on the International Space Station for six months. Peggy is now returning to the Space Station in the fall of 2007 as Commander.
