Silver Star
Army Specialist Monica Brown has just been awarded the Silver Star, one of the nation's highest awards for heroism in combat. Monica is the second woman since World War II to receive the honor.
Guest host Aaron Henkin talks to Monica from Afghanistan about the day her courage was tested. A roadside bomb had struck her convoy. Monica ducked gunfire to shield and treat five wounded soldiers. She then helped transport the men to safety.

Lost In Action
Marshall Anderson's dad fought in World War II and he never liked to talk about it—except for one story. In 1944, Marshall's dad fought in the Battle of Hurtgen Forest in Germany. It was one of the fiercest military encounters American troops faced in Europe. His dad survived, but lost his college class ring in the fight.
In 2005, four years after his father's death, Marshall came home to a message on his answering machine: the ring Marshall's dad had lost nearly 60 years earlier was finally found.
Marshall joins Dick to tell his father's story, and describe his amazement at getting the ring after so many years.
