OPTIONS AT THE END
Timothy Quill is a doctor who specializes in care for people at the end of life. In his work, he asks dying people to tell him their stories, and he lets their life experiences help shape his treatment. It's a method he learned early in his career, and one he used when it came time to help his own father die.
After working with many patients, Timothy now believes there are times when it's important to help a dying patient who wants some control over the time of their death. He has been criticized for this. Timothy talks to Dick Gordon about how his experiences have shaped his views on death and dying.
Cornel Hunter's first ghostwriting assignment came unexpectedly when a college buddy talked him into taking an essay test for him. While Cornel hated the idea of breaking the rules, he loved the challenge of trying to write in someone else's voice. Cornel's talent for getting inside other people's heads has served him well, and he has had a successful career as a ghostwriter. He talks to Dick about the time his wordsmithing was truly put to the test - when he and his family found themselves looking down the barrel of a gun.
