One of the most vulnerable categories of employment in this economic downturn is that of the temporary worker. Many companies rely on temps, but the positions don't come with benefits or job security.
Phil Palios holds such a position at Microsoft. He makes good money, but like so many other temps, he wishes he had a full-time job. Phil knew that Microsoft was not losing money, so he felt somewhat secure. But recently Phil's temp agency sent out a note saying that all Microsoft temps would have to accept a ten percent pay cut. Phil then surprised himself. He decided to organize a public protest.
