THE DUST BOWL
These are hard times we’re in. Unemployment is at its worst since World War II. Close to 15 million Americans are out of work and many of them have now been jobless for over a year. Elmer "Lindy" Linenberger saw a lot of hard times as a kid. He lived through the Dust Bowl years in Kansas. Today on the program, Lindy shares vivid stories of his childhood with Dick Gordon, and he gives some pointed advice for those who are tired of today’s tough recession.
YOUR STORY - HEARING FOOTSTEPS
Amber Dawn wrote to us to say: "This is a story of a creepy nature, not a sad or dramatic story, but a true story that happened. In my twentieth year I moved to a quiet mountain town in Washington to be close to my brother and his family. I rented a one-bedroom apartment down the street from his house. There I lived for six months, until I discovered a man living in my crawl space." Amber joins Dick to discuss how she made the discovery, and what happened next.
