Wisdom From The Washeteria

We have had a lot of fun on the program in recent months with people who do long-term, offbeat projects. Dick talked with a guy who took a photo of himself every dayfor ten years. Dick also spoke with a woman  who’s been filling out the little customer comment card at Starbucks, in effect writing a letter a day to the company for more than 5 years. Grace DePass wrote us to say, “I am 55 years old. I have never owned a washer or dryer. Since I was a child, I have always been the one to wash the clothes at the washeteria.” A washeteria is what they call the laundromat in New Orleans, where Grace grew up. She's been keeping a journal of things she learned there ever since she was 10 - and she shares some of those stories with Dick.
