Summer Job: Caring For Mrs. Blackburn

When Margaret Sudekum was 16, she took a summer job caring for a woman with quadriplegia named Mrs. Blackburn. Margaret describes Mrs. Blackburn as a woman who ran the household and raised her children-and who just happened to lack the ability to move. Margaret says she learned a few lessons from that summer job, including the idea that circumstances don't necessarily dictate how you must live your life.
