EL SISTEMA

Marie Racine Montilla is a violin player and teacher. She’s spent the past three years working in Venezuela’s highly successful classical music education program called El Sistema. She marvels at the way the program gets kids off the streets and into music. Now she’s in the US on a fellowship, to learn how to bring El Sistema to American kids.

POST- ELECTION GAFFE

The elections are past, and newly elected officials are preparing to get to work. Ann Zellmer’s story is a kind of worst case scenario of what can happen after the election. Ann was elected president of the PTA at her kid’s school. Soon after her win, she showed up at the school, accidentally, in sheer pajamas.

ON STAGE AGAIN

Ms. Senior America was crowned a few weeks ago in Atlantic City. Ms. U.S. Virgin Islands walked away with the top prize. Barb Wolfrom recently faced her fears and competed in a beauty pageant for seniors.

OPEN MIC: GENE KELLY

Today’s Open Mic segment comes from Pittsburgh. A story of a house, and  a very famous man who waltzed through the dining room with one of the residents of the home.
