The Never-Ending Road Trip

THE NEVER-ENDING ROAD TRIP

Millions of us will take to the road this week, headed to Thanksgiving destinations. No matter how bad traffic is, or what goes wrong for us, it almost certainly won’t be as bad as Rick Olson’s trip from Wisconsin to Texas. There was the breakdown, the blow-out, the toll booth trouble, and a three-day trip that ended up lasting ten days. Rick’s here to remind us that no matter what piece of misery you encounter on your way to Grandma’s house for Thanksgiving … things could always be worse.

OPEN MIC: MORE TRAVEL STORIES

Rick Olson called in response to our on-air request for travel stories. Today’s Open Mic stories include a stranded football team, and a scientist’s botched trip abroad.

ROLLIN’ ON

If you’re heading to the airport this week, chances are you’ll have a suitcase with little wheels on it. Dick’s guest, Bernard Sadow, is the man who began a revolution. He was the first to put wheels on luggage.
