Proposition 19

It’s a measure that would legalize the cultivation and possession of marijuana.  Kimberly Simms never thought she’d care much about the issue. PERSONAL POLITICS: RUNNING FOR OFFICE

Tomorrow is an important day. Unless you voted early, it’s the day to make time to cast your ballot. We recently asked listeners to call about a time you got involved in politics– and what you learned. Today, two stories. Both involve young people and politics.

MEETING JACKIE ROBINSON

Baseball fans are abuzz this week over the World Series. Don Mesibov is a fan – and he had a real life fan’s dream come true. He spent 45 minutes with Jackie Robinson. Don was a cub reporter when he tracked down the ball player and conducted an interview.  It's a day he'll never forget, and fifty years later, he still has the tape to prove it happened.

Music

"Jack I'm Mellow", performed by Trixie Smith;  "Did You See Jackie Robinson Hit That Ball?" performed by Natalie Cole
