Adding It All Up

This weekend, college math students around the country will be participating in the William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition - the Putnam for short. In 2002, Melanie Wood was the first American-born woman to be one of the top 5 scorers and earn the title of a Putnam Fellow. Now a math professor at the University of Wisconsin, she walks Dick through a serious math problem.
