Hard Cider

For Ben Manter, 25, going into business meant a return to his childhood picking apples in his family’s Maine orchard. This January, he and two Bates College friends, Tyler Mosher and Ross Brockman, began fermenting hard apple cider and selling it in kegs under the label Downeast Cider House.
