The Loss Of The Titanic

Lawrence Beesly, an English science teacher, was one of the Titanic’s survivors. We listen to the first-hand accounts he wrote in his book, “The Loss of the Titanic.” Then, Dick speaks with journalist Patricia O’Brien, who researched the congressional hearings held just days after the Titanic went down. O’Brien wrote a novel under the pen name Kate Alcott, “The Dressmaker,” based on the hearings. It is the story of Lady Duff Gordon, the controversy involving the lifeboat she used, and the people it left behind.
