Frank Deford And Arthur Ashe

Dick sits down with longtime sports writer Frank Deford, of Sports Illustrated and NPR's Morning Edition, and they talk about his friendship with tennis pro Arthur Ashe. The two were in South Africa together while apartheid was still the law of the country. Frank describes how Arthur Ashe negotiated a debate he was asked to take part in - his job was to argue against the inequality of the races. Deford captures how he did that deftly and graciously. Frank Deford's new book is "Over Time: My Life as a Sportswriter."
