A Daguerreotype Captures One Day In 1848

Get out your magnifying glass for this conversation with Patricia Van Skaik, a librarian from the Cincinnati Public Library. She tells the story of a picture of the Cincinnati River, developed in a copper plate in a technique called a daguerreotype. A photography museum, the George Eastman House, recently examined the photo and blew it up – revealing details that no one could have imagined. Explore the full photo here.
