Word Birth

When is a word "born" into a young person’s language? And how? To answer that, MIT professor and inventor Deb Roy set up video cameras and audio players to map exactly how a word is acquired. He is using this to analyze patterns of how language is learned, and it has applications in political advertising and marketing.
