Interrupting Violence In Chicago, One Person At A Time

Produced by

Stop one murder through mediation and you have a good chance of buying peace in a neighborhood.

That’s the philosophy of Tio Hardiman, the director of Ceasefire Illinois. He’s been on the show before and so have other urban violence “interrupters,” along with outreach workers who go to the street and talk, extensively, to people.

Hardiman says violence is down in the past months and he credits intensive one-on-one mediation.
