No Money For Bills. Would You Take A Van Gogh?

Zak Rosen

When your next-door neighbor is the Detroit Institute of Art, you hate to see it sell off its masterpieces to pay the bills. When the Detroit emergency manager proposed the sale,  long-time arts patron Harriet Berg began to visit the museum twice a week. She speaks with host Dick Gordon about her city’s underground arts lovers and a memorable encounter with Mexican muralist Diego Rivera.

Look at the mural by Diego Rivera that Dick and Harriet talked about.
