Things Not To Say To the Spouse Of A Deployed Soldier

When the U.S. Army deployed Becky Cullinan’s husband to war for a third time, friends and acquaintances started making comments that, although well-intended, were infuriating. So Cullinan wrote a list of things to not say to the spouse of a deployed soldier. It includes: “I wish my husband would deploy” and “The kids are young – they don’t even realize he’s gone.”
