Arun Gandhi , the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, was a 10-year-old growing up in South Africa’s apartheid when a group of white teenagers beat him up for not being white. Months later, a group of black teens beat him up for not being black. Enraged, Arun wanted revenge, so his parents sent him to India to spend time with his pacifist grandfather. In this interview, Arun tells host Dick Gordon how his grandfather taught him to channel his anger into change. The original version of this story aired Jan 2, 2012.
