Today we share a story of an escape from Tibet in 1959 as a family and their children walked across the Himalayas. Yangsom Brauen, the granddaughter, tells the story with her mother, Sonam, who during the journey falls into an icy crevasse. Also on the show: The field recordings of a young Tibetan woman who gathered songs from her community and nearby villages in China.
