One View Of Afghanistan [2.26.2009]

In 2004, Brian Childs was a commercial pilot with a good job when he decided to join a nonprofit airlift group. He was assigned to Afghanistan. Two years later he transferred to Iraq, where he faced harrowing conditions and came closer to war than he had ever imagined he would. Also in this episode, Joanne Dobbs' American mother and German father moved the family to Germany in 1937. Thinking they'd found a good escape from the Great Depression, but then the war began.
