GITMO - LIFTING THE VEIL OF SECRECY
It's been five years since the first prisoners arrived at the US detention center in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Candace Gorman is a civil rights attorney at a small firm in Chicago. When she volunteered to represent one of the prisoners in "Gitmo," she wondered if he would be one of the so-called "worst of the worst" picked up on the battlefield in Afghanistan. The client did not turn out to be the problem, though. She says it's the operations she has observed at the detention center over the past year that have shocked and sickened her.
